If a character of ours is dependent on another type of character to function, but they canonly have a way to be self-sufficient, can they be pulled out of that dependent state in their canon point and be able to function on their own via the Valkyrie?

To be specific, Archer losing his contract with his Master (who supplies him with magical energy he needs to function), but being reverted to a Counter Guardian who draws off energy from his world itself and is thus able to function alone.
