Character Name: Terry Bogard
Character Canon: Fatal Fury (Also King of Fighters, but owing to continuity issues, only the Fatal Fury/Art of Fighting storyline counts for Terry here.)
Canon point: Shortly after Geese Howard's final death, but before meeting and adopting Rock Howard.
Background: The Fatal Fury series
Terry's Page.

Abilities: Terry has been trained to channel chi in various manners of offense, from ground waves to blasts. He is also acrobatic and capable of sensing danger around him. And he's really good at basketball.

Personality: Terry is far and large the more laid back of the two Bogard brothers. While his brother dedicated himself to the art of improving his skill, Terry still found time to enjoy his youth. Even with a burning desire for vengeance always present in the back of his mind, he never let it get in the way of the smaller things in life, like basketball, or good sandwiches. It helps that he's a very talented fighter even without devoting his entire life to it, though.

What he lacks in book smarts he makes up for in street smarts; most of Terry's pre-teen and teenage life was spent wandering the streets honing his skills and getting the feel of them. If you want to know what's going on in the day-to-day urban life, Terry's your man. Part of it is savvy, part of it is survival, and part of it is just the fact that he's a very charismatic young man who's easy to get along with. Either way, he's a good person to watch your back in the midst of the big city.

Terry generally likes people, and will withhold judgement until he sees them in action. Even then, in most cases he won't hold a grudge. The only exception to the rule is Geese Howard, but that's understandable given that Geese murdered his father in cold blood right in front of him. Furthermore, Terry isn't consumed by his desire; given the opportunity to repeat history and let Geese plummet to what could very likely be his final demise, he instead attempted to break the cycle and save his hated nemesis. If Geese was too proud and vindictive to allow himself to be saved, that was more Geese's problem than Terry's.

If there's a major flaw to Terry, however, it's that he almost never forms long-term attachments to anything. He never dedicates himself to a steady job, instead working whatever part time work he finds. He rarely sticks to one place. And although he has a love interest in Blue Mary, he never outright sees it as a true relationship, which honestly serves both of their interests just fine. The only real attachment he forms -- and this is in the future from the canon point he's taken from -- is to Rock Howard, his adopted son, and even in Rock's case Terry knows when to let go and let him find his own destiny.

Player name: Badge
Character Name: Soga no Tojiko
Character Canon: Touhou Project
Canon point: A few months after Ten Desires.

Background: About Gensokyo.
Tojiko's Symposium of Post-Mysticism Page.

Abilities: Soga no Tojiko, like any Gensokyo resident, can use danmaku. Her speciality, however, is lightning and lighting-based attacks. Furthermore, as a ghost, she can become corporeal and incorporeal at will.

Personality: Tojiko is a Bourei, or resentful spirit. To that effect, she's not particularly friendly with humans -- perhaps understandable, given how much human actions, especially those of Buddhists, have cost her over the years. However, despite the fact that her capacity for utilizing powerful lightning indicates a very high level of vengefulness, Tojiko has actually largely let go of the grudge she's held for humans -- although that doesn't mean she isn't going to be rather cantankerous around them. In all honesty, the only human or human-like people she gets along with are Toyosatomimi no Miko, the would be great leader she threw her hat behind, and Mononobe no Futo, her rival/friend. That isn't to say she couldn't warm up to others given the opportunity, but that would, well, require getting past the obstacle of her short temper.

Tojiko does not tolerate idiots. If she had any Buddhist patience when she was alive, that has pretty much evaporated in her current state as a manifestation of pure resent. Most of the time this just manifests as a snappish, sardonic attitude, but pester her enough and she'll quickly become quite angry. You'll know it's probably a good idea to leave well enough alone when you start seeing little sparks off the metal in the area.

Her Symposium of Post-Mysticism entry denotes her as ill-bred. Despite being a member of one of the two major warring clans, Tojiko's language and demeanor is coarse and blunt. She's actually a tidy and organized person otherwise, but by the standards of her era she's quite rude. She also has a slightly old-fashioned way of talking, though, so it comes off a little strange.

However, she's also described as tender-hearted. Sure enough, underneath that rough, short-tempered exterior is someone who possesses more empathy that expected of someone with her personality. She detests seeing the undeserving suffer, and may even feel for an enemy who is otherwise showing genuine distress. This aspect of her personality is one of the biggest carry-overs from her time alive, and while it was suppressed for the longest time in the headiest days of her grudge, it has slowly worked its way back in.

Shirou Emiya | Fate/Stay Night | Reserved

[personal profile] emptysword 2012-05-21 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
Player name: Eq
Character Name: Shirou Emiya
Character Canon: Fate/Stay Night
Canon point: Post Fate-route

Background: Here!

Abilities:
Projection
The capability to use image from the mind, and trace it into reality, generally, it's one of the most useless form of Magecraft, but under Shirou's mind, who is able to record a certain sword and a sheath, Shirou is capable of projecting a Noble-Phantasm rank weapon that is certainly able to match up to the true items. However, should Shirou's image of them falters by even a bit, it will begin to crack, and then disappear completely as Projections are an anomaly, according to the world, which always tries to erase Projected items.

Great Chef
Self-explanatory, he's very capable of making great tasting food that's a hit with everyone he knows, so yeah. Be prepared to bring your plates to a great feast, guys.

Personality:
To start with, bear in mind that Shirou Emiya is a 16- year old teenager, and thus, prone to doing anythings a teenager does at that age. Now, add an almost suicidal tendency to protect everyone he meets, alongside a broken sense of self from a past incident, and you'll pretty much get Shirou's base character. While he is easy to get along with, mostly everyone might get annoyed at how he is pretty much someone who does whatever he can to help people, which includes sacrificing his own life without thinking twice.

The reason for his current self was simple: The Great Fuyuki Fire. Being one of the survivors of the incident, Shirou's child self was broken by the sight of dead bodies around him, so in a sense, you could say that the fire killed the person Shirou used to be. It was not until a man saved him that his old self was reborn into Shirou Emiya, a male who wished to be a hero, to emulate and walk through the same path the the man walked on, saving everyone he meets along the way.

As a teenager, Shirou is definitely a social person, who can befriend practically anyone he meets, which is displayed by his... strained friendship with Shinji Matou, who is basically the jock of the school. Not only that, Shirou will always attempt to do something to be of help to his friends, be it something as mundane as fixing things, to even more elaborate things such as setting up a neighboring class' stall during a school festival of some sort. Naturally accusations of being too exploitable are abound which is not surprising considering his habits.

To explore this even further, his desire to save people leads him to do what any protagonist does when any of his friends are in any form of danger: Jump into it. He had done this so many times over the course of his story that people called him out on being dangerously selfless to the point it does him more harm than good. Again, this all started from the fire he survived, which, in addition to killing his child self, caused him to have a survivor guilt over all the lives lost during that very same event, and thus, saw fit to devote his life in following part of Kiritsugu's path in order to save everyone.

Character Name: Lancer/Cu Chulainn
Character Canon: Fate/Prototype
Canon point: After mercy killing zombie! Misaya

Background: Lancer’s story starts with Irish mythology. He is the Servant form of the legendary hero Cu Chulainn. Born the demigod son of the sun god Lugh and Dechtire, the sister of the king of Ulster, Cu Cuchlainn’s real name was Setanta. When he was seven years old, his mother brought him to the court of his uncle King Conchobar. There, he tried to join a hurling game being played by the Boy-troops of Ulster. The Boy-troops were a combination of a boy scout troupe and an army-in-training. They were the best and brightest of the noble youths of Ulster, put through rigorous academic and physical training to build them up into the kingdom’s next generation of heroes. When they saw the short, seemingly delicate boy asking to play with them, nobody wanted him to be on their team. However, Setanta insisted on playing and thus, all of the Boy-troops gathered into one team while the other team included Setanta alone. Setanta was able to score many points against the other team, and not once was the ball taken from him. Finally, the angry boys jumped on him, intending to seriously injure or kill this newcomer who had humiliated them. This angered Setanta to the point that he entered his later infamous riastrad or warp spasm—a battle fury that would not only put him in a berserker state, but would twist his body so he no longer looked human. In this state, he defeated the boys and knocked most of the unconscious. Afterwards, when they had regained consciousness, they were willing to accept him as one of their own and even elected him the leader of the Boy-troop.

A couple of days later, Conchobar was invited to a feast at the house of Culan the smith. He wanted to bring his nephew along, but Setanta opted to stay with the Boy-troop and finish his game, saying that he would follow his uncle as soon as he was done playing. By the time he had finished, it was dark. He amused himself with playing with his hurling stick and ball as he walked to Culan’s house. Meanwhile, Conchobar had forgotten that Setanta would follow him. Therefore, as it became late an Culan suggested releasing his infamous hellhound that served as a guard dog, Conchobar agreed. By the time Setanta arrived at Culan’s house, the hellhound was standing guard. Upon seeing Setanta, it pounced on him as if to devour him. Instead of screaming, pissing his pants, and running home to mommy like a sensible boy his age, Setanta used his hurling stick to hit the ball down the hellhound’s throat so hard that it came out of the dog’s rear end and took most of the digestive system with it. Hearing the commotion, Culan and his guests came out of the house. They saw the dead dog and heard Setanta’s explanation. While most of them were impressed with Setanta’s deed, Culan mourned the death of his dog. The smith complained that now, his flock and his house would go unprotected because he will never again have a dog that could match this one. In response, Setanta offered to be his dog while raising a pup of the same breed to serve as a new guard dog. And thus began Setanta’s life of living in the doghouse, fishing for leftovers under tables, marking his territory with pee, and assaulting the occasional mailman. With this, he earned his famous nickname Cu Chulainn or “Hound of Culan”.

As Setanta grew up, he had many adventures. He sought to marry a woman named Emer when he was sixteen, but was told to train a year in the Shadowlands with the warrior woman Scathach before she would accept his proposal. During his training, he learned all the techniques of being a warrior, as well as the 18 runes. Toward the end of his training, another warrior woman, Aoife, invaded Scathach’s lands. Cu Chulainn helped defeat Aoife, and later produced a son named Connla with her. As Scathach’s favorite student, he was given the Gae Bolg, a cursed spear that could invert causality. Scathach’s last request to him was for him to kill her. She had, as a human, killed too many and known too much. Her very existence was being turned into a concept. She wanted to die when she still could, but Cu Chulainn was ultimately unable to strike down the woman who had taught him everything. Instead, he left the Shadowlands and never saw her again. After returning home, he and Emer eloped. However, shortly afterwards, the war over the Cattle Raid of Cuailnge started. Queen Medb, wanting to seize the Brown Bull of Cuailnge, united the other three provinces of Ireland to lay siege to Ulster. The Ultonians were at the time cursed by the Goddess Macha to suffer labor pangs and general weakness in times of invasion. The only ones exempt from the curse were women and children. At the time, Cu Chulainn was only 17 and, since he had been born in a fairy sidhe, he was technically not of Ulster. Therefore, he confronted the entire army by himself and started slaughtering their men. He and Medb eventually agreed that Cu Chulainn would engage one warrior of the united army each day at a ford. The army was only allowed to advance as the two were fighting. In this way, he limited the movements of the united army with a minimal loss of life. He held back the army by himself for a long time, until the Ulstermen were finally roused out of their weakness. The united army was repelled and Medb herself was captured by Cu Chulainn. However, since he disliked killing women and kings, he instead escorted her back to her camp.

More adventures followed, including a tragic one during which Cu Chulainn slew his own son by accident. Eventually, when he was 27, Medb, smarting for revenge against Cu Chulainn, gathered all his enemies together for an assault on Ulster. She also conspired to trick Cu Chulainn to break all the geas that he has held, including one about not eating dog meat. He was spiritually weakened in the ensuing combat and was finally fatally wounded by his own spear, which he had been forced to hand over under demand from a bard. He tied himself to a rock to die on his feet, and it was not until the Morrigan, in the shape of a crow, landed on his shoulder that his enemies knew he was dead and dared to approach him.

But death was not the end of his tale. Upon his death, he entered into the Throne of Heroes and was summoned into the Fifth Heaven’s Feel of Fuyuki. This Heaven’s Feel was a ritual designed to have seven magi summon seven heroes to fight for the Holy Grail, an artifact that could grant one with to the Servant and Master. His Master, a teenage girl named Misaya Reiroukan, wanted to summon a hero who had been killed by a woman so he would know a woman’s true power. Unlike the Lancer of Fate/Stay Night, this Lancer was summoned at the peak of his fame—during the Cattle Raid of Cuailnge, when he was a teenager. Therefore, though he has 27 years worth of memories, he has a teenager’s body and mindset. Misaya, considering his spear inelegant seeing as how it could easily kill another Servant, sealed it away, instead giving him a wooden spear. She also summoned black dog familiars to work alongside him. Though she often teased him or punished him for slight transgressions, he liked her because she reminded him of his teacher Scathach. One of the missions given to him was to kill Misaya’s classmate, Ayaka Saijou. He succeeded in stabbing her, but that only awakened her Master status and allowed her to summon the Servant Saber. Saber easily cleaved Lancer’s wooden spear and sent him running. He and his Master were rivals, but also sometimes reluctant allies, with Ayaka and Saber.

They were seemingly an invincible pair, but Misaya had a deadly secret that none but she and her Servant knew, and even then, they were unclear on the details. Misaya was dying of a curse supposedly laid by her father. Unless she gained the Holy Grail, she could not be cured. However, it turned out that it was not her father who set the curse, but Ayaka’s sister Manaka, working in tandem with Berserker’s Master. The curse eventually killed Misaya by consuming her entire body. However, her unused command seals and her connection with Manaka revived her as a mindless zombie. At this time, Saber had been corrupted by Sancraid Phan, Berserker’s Master. Lancer, now an orphaned Servant, made a contract with Ayaka, with the terms being that he would help her take back Saber…while she would help him release Misaya from her zombie state. Together, the two unsealed Gae Bolg and confronted Manaka’s forces. Once again, Lancer found in Misaya a parallel to Scathach. A woman he loved was trapped in a twisted state where she could not even die. This time, though, he did not hesitate to kill her and grant her a final release.

Abilities: Lancer is a Servant, a specialized form of familiar. In life, he was already a famous hero and had physical abilities above that of the average human. As a Servant, his physical abilities are far above human level, and in terms of his speed, above even that of most other Servants. His Noble Phantasm, his signature weapon from life that has now become a concept linked to him after his death, is the spear Gae Bolg. It is a cursed spear with the ability to invert causality to pierce the victim’s heart. After it is activated by speaking its name, thrusting the spear is merely a formality, since the victim’s heart is pierced upon activation. This effect applies even when facing another causality inverting Noble Phantasm like Fragarach. It also has an anti-army function where it converts all of Lancer's prana into energy that is relased when the lance is thrown, causing a huge explosion. However, this weapon was sealed by his Master, who believed it was not elegant enough. As a result, he makes do with a regular spear made of wood and iron. He is also an expert tracker, capable of hunting down his enemies with the slightest clues. He has an exceptional affinity for his Master Misaya’s dog familiars and hunts alongside them. Another ability he has as a Servant is magic resistance, an immunity to spells beneath a certain level. He is also himself a magician of sorts, being able to use the eighteen runes of origin to a variety of effects. His quick reflexes allow him a certain defense against projectiles. As long as the shooter is within his line of sight, he can track and defend against ranged weapons. As a hero, he was also famed for his Warp Spasm, which granted him enormous power in exchange for robbing him of his sanity and twisting his body into a monstrous form. However, he did not retain this ability as a Servant. Though his likes to attack, his real specialty is defense since he has had plenty of experience with battles where he is at a disadvantage. Associated with this is his ability to break away from combat and restore his conditions to what they were at the beginning of the match. His Battle Continuation ability means he can fight and survive for a while even with injuries that would fatal to any others.

Personality: Lancer is a very rough and wild, but straightforward and carefree man. He is usually friendly and casual, even to his enemies. In fact, his personal philosophy is that one should drink until dawn with someone they get along with, even if that person would become the enemy in the morning. However, this does not change the fact that on the battlefield, all enemies to be killed mercilessly. Speaking of battle: he loves it. The reason he joined the army was so he could fight good opponents. However, it usually applies to single battles against talented warriors. Though he is quick to work himself into a frenzy when fighting, he has no interest in the mass slaughter during wars.

Though he refuses to talk about his alignment in terms of good or evil, he is a good person on the inside. He is rather naïve and impulsive, having not yet realized that the world is an unreasonable place and has an inherent balance of good and evil. He is often the first to rush into battle, as well as the first to physically discipline any thugs who harass innocent people. Despite being friendly, his impulsive and brunt way of speaking and joking around sometimes ends up hurting feelings unawares to him.

He is an honorable man, having sworn to loyally serve anyone that becomes his Master. At the same time, he is a rebellious teenager who sometimes clashes with his Master’s personality or methods. Though he would never desert his Masters, he still has some problems taking orders that he dislikes, such as harming women or innocent people. On rare occasions, his personal sense of morality will override even his Master’s orders. But most of the time, he just channels his rebelliousness into following those disliked orders in the worst way possible. When paired with a disliked Master, he also has the habit of pulling every prank he can think of that isn’t specifically banned and will not stop until his Master personally orders him to stop. His honor is tied to his straightforward nature. He does not like lies or betrayal and is a man of his word, willing to uphold any oath that he swears, no matter how unreasonable, until his dying day. At the same time, he absolutely hates traitors and is easily stirred into a rage if he encounters them. His other dislike is convoluted plans, which conflict with his straightforward nature.

For all his impulsiveness, Lancer rarely has any regrets. In his view, what is done is done. Hope is for the future and miracles are for the living. Even if some tragedy befalls him, he would give himself sufficient time to mourn, but then move on and continue living his life as he likes it, letting his instincts guide him. This is, at least, what he would like to believe. In truth, some incidents in the past have severely traumatized him, and even if he does not want to, they sometimes come back to haunt him and drive him to try to prevent the tragedy from ever happening again.

Lancer’s straightforward view also applies to his desires. He is not exactly a man known for his temperance, especially when it comes to women. He has had a long series of one-night-stands, though he has genuinely fell in love only very few times. He has a liking for tough girls, especially those who initially act cold or tease him, because they remind him of his teacher, Scathach. This attraction can be either romantic or simply friendly in nature, depending on the girl. His way of showing it usually includes lots of friendly teasing, though given the girls he’s dealing with, it usually earns him swift and painful repercussions. Ironically, he puts off sleeping with the girls he likes, preferring to get to know them first.

Player name: AOB
Character Name: Porky Minch
Character Canon: Mother
Canon point: Around the start of Chapter Four of Mother 3.

Background: http://earthbound.wikia.com/wiki/Eagleland
http://earthbound.wikia.com/wiki/Foggyland
http://earthbound.wikia.com/wiki/Chommo
http://earthbound.wikia.com/wiki/Nowhere_Islands

http://earthbound.wikia.com/wiki/Pigmask_Army
http://earthbound.wikia.com/wiki/Pokey_Minch

Abilities: Porky is immortal. Even if his body was cut into countless, tiny pieces, he claims that he would still be alive. At the same time, he probably isn't too distanced from a regular human to suddenly be able to regenerate at any given moment. His body has aged beyond repair, but his consciousness is anchored to the world and trapped in a perpetual, childlike state. As another downside, Porky has lost his ability to walk. He can move his arms around, but his legs are non-functioning. In his extreme age, it's difficult to leave his life support system for too long.

Despite that, Porky retains a dangerous level of intelligence. He knows a little more than the basics of machinery to be able to figure out how to build devices. His Spider Mechs have been built using the schematics he drew up. There are two he has in his possession. The first doubles as Porky's life support system and a mobile tank/bed. The machine is capable of limited flight and makes use of an alien source of power to shoot red-colored electricity as well as foul-smelling gas. Its edged legs are like blades when they're swung. The mech is outfitted with a stock of robots called the Porky units, doppelgangers of the tyrant's younger self. While seemingly only distracting at most, the robots can detonate like explosives if Porky either activates them or they sustain enough damage.

The last is an older model of the Spider Mech, yet built with metal that looks somewhat organic. It's not as versatile as the newer model, but it's still able to fly for a longer amount of time and shoot foul-smelling gas. It's often piloted by Porky units these days than the man himself.

Personality: Even by his game's creators, Porky has been called the “epitome of all selfishness”. Taking into account how he treats others, this is not all that far from the truth. Porky is one of the worst people anybody could ever meet. If he sees that you are weaker than him, he will not hesitate in belittling you. One of the ways the boy has fun, after all, is by picking on others who are vulnerable. Conversely, if you are stronger than he is, he will start kissing up to you, pretending as if he was your friend. Whatever the case, Porky is not one people should trust all that easily.

Beyond mere childishness, Porky is truly a dangerous person. For the sake of power, he would be more than glad to throw away all of his friends and family. Porky worked his way up from the Happy Happy Cult to the inner circle of Fourside's mayor, Monotoli, all the way to the embodiment of destruction, Giygas. In the end, he was able to control Giygas through the Devil's Machine that kept him sealed. His will and intelligence easily surpass any normal boy's. He's able to learn quickly, swindle people at an alarming rate, and gain the power he wants and beyond. Although physically weak and often times easily frightened, once Porky reaches his state of power, stopping him is just as difficult as stopping any other credible villain.

Of course, every villain comes with motivations. Porky's home is not quite picture perfect. His parents are negligent at best and abusive at worst. They treated their neighbors and colleagues poorly as well, earning the Minches a reputation. Children weren't allowed to play with Porky and eventually, they began to hate him too. Given his personality, he took that as a personal offense and mutually rejected them. He developed distrust for those around him and in his self-absorbed mind, he believed he deserved better than where he was now. His deep wish for world conquest all stemmed from an unhappy home. Up till now, all he was doing was fulfilling his childish desire, considering his actions all to be merely playing a game.

Beyond that thick layer of obnoxiousness, however, lies a sensitive kid. Despite how he treats others, in a strange way, he values his few friendships, especially Ness'. This, of course, is not a side that he will show all too easily. It exists and despite his willingness to betray Ness and destroy the world, he still kept the yo-yo he was given a long time ago. The boy's greatest fear out of everything else is that he would be utterly alone. In a world filled with people who seemingly hate him, this is just how he feels. In the end, Porky is just a kid and an example of what happens when you give absolute power to an angry brat who doesn't know any better. That brat still has shards of humanity left inside of him.

As centuries passed, more of his humanity became buried underneath bitter feelings resulting from dejection. Porky found that in each era, people responded to him with little beyond contempt and hate. His actions toyed around with the lives of many and ruined others, but even so, he still questioned why people hated him so much. This twisted him into forcing himself to believe that humans are the problem with the world rather than coming to terms with his own flaws. Their response to him made him believe that they are nothing but ugly, worthless creatures that need to be stepped on. While experience tends to come through age, Porky's childishness has remained stunted.

He claims that he is a god and his struggle is one against boredom. He toys with people and politics to bend their will to his. To alleviate his ennui, Porky is prepared to wipe out all of humanity as a part of his game. While he says that he fights against boredom or wants to destroy humanity, Porky's more desired wish is to be defeated. What he wants more than anything else in the world is for a hero to see his actions, care deeply enough about him, and end him. The reason that Porky gives others so many chances to face him is simply because of this. Unsatisfied with most of his enemies, he feels that Ness is the only one worthy enough to do it, but he finds himself disappointed when he doesn't arrive. Porky wants to be proven wrong to show that beyond his paranoia of everyone in the world hating him, there's one person who cares enough.

Actually, Notes: Is there any chance that he could have a wheelchair of some sort? It's going to get awkward bringing a giant mech around everywhere.

Player name: Shini
Character Name: Kuja
Character Canon: Dissidia: Final Fantasy
Canon point: Near the end of the 12th cycle, just before Lightning defeated him.

Background: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Kuja

Abilities: Kuja has shown remarkable magical powers, casting both white and black magic, technically making him a Red Mage in Final Fantasy’s terms. And while generally he prefers pure offensive power, he has shown the ability to do more subtle acts such as putting Garnet to sleep, or breaking Kefka’s hold over Terra, or that he’s the only character in Dissidia who can hover indefinitely.

Kuja’s signature and unique move is Flare Star, a strong attack of no particular element that ignores magic defense – he considers it a trump card only to be used against worthy enemies.

He’s also shown to have the mindset of an engineer, able to more or less reverse-engineer how Genomes are created to make Black Mages and how to extract eidolons from summoners.

Personality: Kuja is vain, narcissistic, and an egotist. Due to his position as Garland’s Angel of Death, he views himself as superior to other people especially in terms of Magical Power and worth, even to the point where a world where he does not exist is utterly inconceivable to him. Once he is in a position of power and sure of his plan’s success, he sees no reason why he shouldn’t tell someone how exactly he’s going to royally screw him or her over – so they know exactly how powerful and clever he is, and how screwed they are.

His vainglorious antics is really a cover to hide an inferiority complex caused by being told pointblank – repeatedly – that in the end, he was replaceable and worthless once his job was over. Naturally he wants to prove he’s neither, and will try to present himself as perfect, attempting to get everyone’s respect, awe, and dread. If he’s ignored, or worse dismissed, he flies into a rage, lashing out at the offender verbally – tearing them down in order to alleviate the sense of injury he has over the slight. Beating down others with ‘weak magic’ is another means to prove himself worthy of respect, and even his eye-catching clothes is just a way for him to get people to pay attention to him.

Kuja despite his ego and desire to prove himself, he is actually a clever man. If it’s to suit his long-term plan, he can for a time successfully clamp down on his desire for attention to act as the perfect servant – though he won’t hide his contempt for them when the subject is out of earshot or no longer useful. He’s remarkably adaptive, observing setbacks as opportunities (once the initial rage fades) – such as seeing a Moogle Trance as a realization of how to achieve this state himself, or Garland hijacking the Invincible as a chance to kill his hated creator.

He also seems to have a knack for telling people what they wanted to hear – just enough to tempt them to some shady action. However he won’t push them, preferring to just give people a rope long enough to hang themselves with and seeing if they will actually do it. Kuja is dismissive of people who claim he has some kind of mind control power, and considering he went out of his way to break Terra from Kefka’s control, he may find the idea loathsome.

The Genome conducts himself in a theatrical style, modeling himself after Shakespeare Lord Avon’s greatest villains and other nefarious figures from plays. He is naturally poetic, using metaphors and figurative language to express his thoughts even when he’s by himself. Kuja knows damn well what he does is villainous, and decided that if he’s going to destroy the world; he might as well have fun doing it.

But having been put on the battle between Cosmos and Chaos for a long time, he starts tiring of war, and started to reach out to the one person he remembers showing kindness – Zidane. He shows genuine desire to do good, but he automatically resorts to lying to get close to Zidane, showing that he still has some issues figuring out how to exactly be good, especially when one realizes he's been groomed to be an angel of death that caring for others is brand new, and very confusing thing for him.

And in a situation where he has to choose between an emotional impulse (help Cosmos) and the sure, logical thing (stay with chaos), he will choose the “logical” action every time even if it screws him over in the long run. Especially if going by his emotional wants risks losing his pride. This also prevents him from apologizing for wrongs – he just can’t lose face.

Player name: Kattu

Character Name: Yoko Littner (Yomako)

Character Canon: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Canon point: Post-series ⇨ (HIGHLIGHT FOR SPOILERS: During Simon and Nia's Wedding )

Background: TTGL Wiki link

Abilities: Yoko only has a couple of abilities. She's got a sharp eye; combine her keen sight with her rifle and she's one hell of a marksman. Even when she's mobile, she can still hit things with a bit of extra concentration. This ability isn't supernatural in any sense, so it's unlikely she would be able to hit someone with super speed. Along with that, she can fly a Gunmen with relative ease. While she's been able to adapt to multiple ones, it may be unreasonable for her to be good with a new machine at first.

Personality: Hailing from an universe of manly screaming and 'my drill is larger than your drill', Yoko stands out in her own unique manner. While she lacks supernatural abilities, she makes up for the slack with her unparalleled skill with firearms, specifically of the sniping category. This is a skill she's grown to perfect over time and it excels best in battle; even if she's unable to stand still to take a shot, she still can hit the mark fairly well, meaning not only is her eyesight keen as ever, but that she has a sharp mind as well. With the prowess to take a good shot and to strike at the weakness of machines she's never seen before, her wit isn't one that can be trained, showing that she might just be that damn good. Remaining physically fit enough to carry not only a rifle larger than herself, but multiple guns, Yoko's perseverance and ruthlessness in the field of battle is one of her shining traits.

And if she fails to catch the attention of others with a well placed bullet? Then she'll leave her body image to pick up any stragglers by wearing a minimal amount of clothing while in combat. This is so it doesn't impede her mobility, but it ends up drawing attention she deems unnecessary. While she does dress in a modest fashion out of battle, most of her time spent with the team is spent in a very revealing clothing. Often she's quick to complain if others dress absurdly even if they are covered just a bit more than herself. Yoko doesn't mean to be a hypocrite, she just thinks it distasteful to display one's body in such a manner and that her own state of dress makes sense because of how she fights.

Despite that, Yoko's shown to be a mature young woman right from the start. Battle must be thought through and those who insist otherwise are quick to butt heads with her. Yoko doesn't take being wrong easily and her passion for her beliefs makes it impossible for her to back down from a dispute. Engaging an enemy without thinking it through not only frustrates her for lack of planning, but her protective edge seeps out. If there's no plan to do things right, there's a big chance that things could go wrong. Burdening the weight of guilt of past deaths and protecting everyone she comes across leaves Yoko to have an overbearing mindset. Even when it comes to people who fight alongside her, the need to shelter shines through.

Her maturity and vigilant nature often leave her with the responsibility of being the voice of reason in the group. Careful planning and calculations are important to a sniper, more so to Yoko as minimizing the damage taken and supplies wasted means there will be less work. Besides, if she can take a carefully organized shot, she could be the hero herself. While she's reserved in personality, it wouldn't hurt to be the savior of the day every once in a while just so the guilt isn't on someone else's back. This pushes her to better herself. Later on, the strong desire to protect the children of the world is what pushes her to fight and defend the world they have created. When it comes to being heroic, she's not too thrilled to talk about it, choosing instead to hide her identity with an alias.

Yoko's has plenty of her own flaws, the most significant being that she has to deal with things on her own. She can be cynical, jaded, and downright bitchy but only to herself. While she's quick to tell others she's fine when she's suffering deep down, she'll leave to brood on her own in places she can't be bothered. When alone, she breaks down and grieves in her own way. Carrying along with that negativity, Yoko's sworn off romance after not only losing Kamina, but Kittan. Any and all love she has is better placed in improving the lives of the children of the world, which is why she returns to the life she made for herself.

While she's known as the voice of reason in her group, she doesn't enjoy politics, choosing instead to live on a desolate island instead of going through the effort to build a city. Violence is senseless in her mind and is something she tries to shield others from, specifically children as she wants a world where they would never have to live a life identical to her own. After losing so many friends and family, Yoko's eager for a future where things like battle and guns have no place. Despite all that has happened in her life though, she manages to bounce back and keep an optimistic outlook on the future ahead. She may falter at times, but she's always ready to pick herself up to carry on from where she last left off. That's just part of the job of paving a road of good intentions for future generations and it's not one she's willing to give up on ever.
